Bad Sodener Kurpark
The inviting local spa park is situated right next to the Bad Soden meadows and the Spessart thermal spring. Every August there is a special event celebrating the beneficial properties of the natural spring with an open air classical music concert and at this time the park, which has normally free entry, gets very busy.
Pacificussprudel
In 1907 a borehole was sunk which found the Pacificus spring water; below today's Klinik St Marien you can find the historic pavilion pump room which was restored in 2007. The spring water is no longer used.
The ruined castle Stolzenberg
From the ruined castle Stolzenberg's viewing tower one can enjoy beautiful view as far as the Spessart and Rhön (ca. 1252m) This tower is a major feature of the Bad Soden landscape.
Game park
The game park in the Soden Forest keeps red deer, roe deer and wild boar in its large enclosures. It is open all year and entrance is free. Surrounding the game park are many paths for walking and hiking.
The Kinzig Reservoir
The Kinzig Reservoir between Bad Soden-Salmünster and Steinau an der Straße is a popular destination for walking, biking and in summer also for renting pedalos, rowing boats and electric boats (from end of April until mid September, normally from 12.30 - depending on the weather , phone 06056 4280). The reservoir is approximately 2.4 km long and is has an area of about 70ha.
Thermal Sole
Spessart Themal Baths - The renovated thermal salt spring with an outdoor wave pool is open every day till late and offers fun for swimmers all around the year.
In summer deckchairs on the extensive lawns invite you to sunbathe to the sound of waves and in winter the Sonnendusche on the balcony invites you to bathe in the sun.
Old Town of Salmünster
In the carefully restored old town of Salmünster are many half timbered buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is a vibrant old town with historic houses, pretty shops and good restaurants.
The Franciscan Monastery of Salmünster
The Franciscan Monastery and the parish church of St Peter and Paul, visible from afar, are one of the main characteristic features of the town of Salmünster. The oldest part of the monastery was built at the end of the 17th. Until 2005 Franciscan monks lived in the monastery and looked after the catholic parish. Today the building is used as an education centre and retreat.
Huttenschloss Bad Soden
The Bad Soden Huttenschloss (manor house) was built in 1536 by Lukas van Hutten in the tradition of a town fortress. As part of a guided tour of the town visitors are allowed to see the inner courtyard. The Schloss has been restored by volunteers for the last 15 years with much care and attention to detail.
